Believe it or not, this pattern or injury cycle is incredibly common. Most treatment plans are based on addressing the main complaint you have like low back or neck pain. These treatments can provide temporary relief in these areas, but often, the original issue that caused them remains hidden. After time, the original cause starts to put the same pressure and strain on the areas you sought treatment for, and you find yourself back at your providers office for additional out of pocket expenses. You need a plan specific to your individual needs.
When you come to our office we will do a very thorough assessment of why you came in, and look at how you’re currently moving to determine what is causing the problem. This assessment is called the FMA, or Functional Movement Assessment. This comprehensive assessment will shed light on areas that might be contributing to your current conditions and provide information on areas of improvement Dr. Keith can address with you to prevent the injuries and discomfort that brought you in to see him.
By treating the cause of your issues, not just the symptoms, you can break your injury cycle. For example, if you experience low back pain, do you know the issue might actually be coming from tightness in the mid back, hips and ankles?
Your low back might be getting overloaded due to lack of motion in those areas. With some in office treatments and simple exercises specific to your problem done between appointments you might be able to eliminate your back pain completely without surgery, painful shots, or endless office visits and out of pocket expenses.
When you come to our office we will do a very thorough assessment of why you came in, and look at every aspect of how you sit, stand, walk, and exercise.

The Functional Movement Assessment helps with creating a plan specific to the individual patient by looking at both individual joint motions and full-body movement patterns. What you’ll get is a plan that will help you feel better but continue to improve on the weak links in your movement that will keep you moving forward and not in a cycle of dealing with the same injury and symptoms. Like Dr. Keith always says, “Move Better, Be Better!”
